10 Valentines Day Date Ideas in Regina
Finding the perfect Valentines Day date can be stressful! You feel like you've already exhausted all the good ideas but you really want to do something unique! Well, if you're cutting it last minute and still need an idea, we've got you covered! Here are our 10 Valentines Day date ideas in Regina for you:
1. Go for a skate in Victoria Park
If you head downtown, Victoria Park has been turned into a giant skating rink! Skates and hot chocolate are even provided for free on site! The temperature is supposed to be above 0 tomorrow so it's the perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy our beautiful downtown. Although the rink technically never closes, the official hours of operation will be from 11:30 am- 2:30 pm, then again from 5:00 - 8:00 at night.
2. Spend a night at the Piano Bar
Have you ever been to The Nest on south Albert Street? If you haven't, we highly suggest checking it out! Spend the night eating, drinking, and listening to live piano music. You can request any song you want, and if you're up for some fun- you can even karaoke the words alongside the piano player!
3. Play games
If you want a date that's more on the playful side, then this is for you! If you like arcade-style games, visit the Wonderland Arcade on downtown Broad Street! It's only $5 an hour for unlimited play time, and snacks are super cheap! If you'd rather sit-down and chat over a board game, pay a visit to Boards & Beans Cafe! It's only a $5 cover as well.
4. Watch a prairie sunset
We do this all the time in the summer, but who says you can't watch a sunset in the winter? The weather is supposed to be nice, and if the skies are as clear tomorrow as they are today, we could be in for a real show! A great place to watch it is from Boothill in Douglas Park. It overlooks the lake and the Legislative Building and makes for a beautiful view. Grab some blankets and drive on up!
5. Visit Moose Jaw
If you're up for a little road trip, drive down to Moose Jaw! The Temple Gardens Mineral Spa is the perfect romantic getaway. And while you're there, head on down to Deja Vu to eat some chicken wings and milkshakes. They have over 100 flavours wings, and over 80 flavours of milkshakes!
6. Grab coffee
In recent years, Regina has established a unique culture around coffee within the city. Tons of local coffee shops are popping up all around, each with it's own unique personality. One of our favourites is Stone's Throw, located on Kramer Boulevard. Grab a drink and a snack and spend the night talking away.
7. Toonie Tuesday
Toonie Tuesday is back at Rainbow Cinemas! And personally, we think they've got the best, butteriest popcorn in town, too. Since Valentines Day will be falling on a Tuesday tomorrow, this is the perfect cheap date!
8. Check out local Breweries
There are lots of local Breweries opening up around Regina! If you and your date enjoy a nice cold brew, consider paying a visit to Rebellion Brewery or Malty National. They've got lots of unique beers that you've got to try!
9. Adult Science Night
The Science Center will be holding another Adult Science Night tomorrow night from 7-10 pm. For $20, you can take full advantage of the Science Center without the hussle and bussle of having kids everywhere. They also license it out, so snacks and alcohol can be purchased too. This being said, the event is 19+.
10. See the "Freedom Singer, Project: Humanity" at the Artesian
In honour of Black History month, this concert-theatre hybrid production showcases the journey through underground railroads and the songs that carried freedom seekers northward into Canada as they tried to escape slavery. The show was co-created by JUNO nominee Khari Wendell McClelland and will only be presented in Regina, Winnipeg, and Calgary. Tickets are $30 at the door or $25 in advance. Doors open at 7:30, and the show will begin at 8:00.
Happy Valentines Day, Regina!
